impact with light 16.5.2024

PULA ARENA, CROATIA

This temporary installation, created for just one night, was made to bring focus to arts and culture and celebrate both the UNESCO International Day of Light and the United Nations International Day of Living Together in Peace.

The short-lived, guerilla-style installation was deliberately created in a condensed timeframe.

Creating something beautiful, for no other reason than the love of art, gives me hope for positive change. It's a reminder of what we can achieve. I want to inspire everyone to start creating, to chase their dreams, and make their own contribution to beauty in the world.

This sentiment reflects the spirit of both the International Day of Light, which celebrates the power of light in science, culture and art, and the International Day of Living Together in Peace, which promotes harmony among all people.

The selection of the Pula Arena, the world's best-preserved Roman amphitheatre, adds another layer of significance. The historic site becomes a canvas for my artistry, highlighting the role of art and culture in fostering peace and well-being around the world. This temporary installation celebrated the power of light, a universal symbol with positive connotations across cultures.

"Impact with Light" was a collaborative effort between Kari Kola, SGM Light, Visualia Festival and Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula. The event was carried out in support of the UNESCO International Day of Light and the UN International Day of Living Together in Peace
