Sounds of the river
BRIXEN, ITALY
On the homepage of the Finnish artist Kari Kola one reads I am a light artist, an artist of light who has replaced the paintbrush with light and who, thanks to the most modern technology, creates paintings that are second to none. The canvas has long since been replaced by air, water, meadows and forests. The picture presented to us speaks for itself and is a perfect symbiosis between nature and light. Sounds of the River is an installation in which two rivers are merged into one with the help of blue rays of light, forming the shape of an imaginary island floating in the air. The elements of water and air are always present and connected. The artist uses a high element of light in the air, creating an atmospheric work of art that gives a special atmosphere to the entire area marked as the place where the two rivers meet. The soundscape of the installation is created using underwater microphones from both rivers.
